Signs are promising but Professional Maturity is needed if we wish the industry develops in Pakistan.

Why do I say this? Because till now Internet Marketing is being considered as an Earning Opportunity and not as an Industry. Until we start taking Internet Marketing as an industry it will never develop as it has in other countries. Pakistan is a very lucrative market for Internet Marketing if the Industry is developed because of many reasons:

• Highly Talented Internet Marketing Professionals.

I have been telling all my corporate friends who own local businesses to use Internet Marketing to their advantage. Especially Social Media because Advertising on Facebook is still very cheap for Pakistan. Take the following example to understand the cost benefits we currently have over the western markets:

So you can see the advantage companies have if they start advertising right now before the market rises in Pakistan. Currently only Cellular Networks have taken Online Marketing Seriously and are advertising on various venues. I’ve seen companies, hiring a single person as the Internet Marketing guy who will handle everything! This is the Professional Maturity I’m talking about! One person can’t do everything. Internet Marketing is a very specialized field with experts in every branch. A person who is an expert Email Marketer might not likely be such a great SEO. A company must understand that Internet Marketing is best done in a team. Companies which have done effective Internet Marketing understand what I’m saying and if done correctly companies know that results are better then any other Advertising the companies do. One benefit of Internet Marketing for a large company is Public Relations and Reputation Management.

Social Media and other venues act as a great place for companies to manage reputation and handle Public relations. Many companies are actively promoting themselves and handling customers via Facebook pages and these companies have seen great results and customer interaction. Social Media is a great way for companies to get close to their customers and get valuable feedback which was very hard any other way.

Above I talked about how the market is still wide open for companies in the Social Media same is the case in Search engine rankings too. The local industry is still available for companies to get good rankings in.

So now what should be done to develop the industry in Pakistan? First of all we should start thinking of Internet Marketing as an Industry not an Earning Opportunity. Our companies should also start understanding the needs of Professional Internet Marketers and instead of considering them as someone needed just to remain with market the market trend and handle Facebook pages, they should consider them as someone who can boost their Sales Graph, Take Customer Satisfaction To Higher Levels, Increase Lead Generation etc.

Some companies don’t hire Professional Internet Marketer’s because of the High Salary Demands, what companies don’t understand is that a Professional Internet Marketer can earn back to the company many times what they pay them and Professional Internet Marketers are well paid if they work as Freelancers for International Firms so why would they come for a Local company’s job at lower financial compensation.

I hope that the Internet Marketing industry develops in Pakistan so that we local Internet Marketers can work for our local companies instead of International firms as Freelancers.

What Is Guest Blogging?

Guest blogging is basically the process of Writing blogposts for other blogs and getting them published in hope of Backlinks, Traffic, Getting Exposure and Building relationships.

Guest Blogging has proven to be a great Reader base builder for blogs over the years, with such a tested and proven performance a marketer or blogger should be careful not to miss this tactic. Bloggers using Guest Blogging as a regular marketing tactic have seen increase in readers and subscribers. There are lots of great reading material on Guest blogging if you care to search on Google.

Guest Blogging has proven its worth especially in the Make Money Online (MMO) niche but its not limited to it. You can use Guest Blogging in any Niche as long as there are blogs in it. In fact there maybe a chance that Guest Blogging in different Niches can be easier then the MMO niche because not many people/bloggers are doing it.

Just think for a second that a good fellow blogger sends you an exclusive well written article to be published on your blog won’t you accept it? So in the last post I mentioned how you can earn with Freelance Writing so lets talk today on how you can start your online career in Freelance Writing. People ask why is Freelance Writing such a lucrative business?

As we say in Internet Marketing that Internet Revolves Around Content so Content is the most needed thing today by websites and blogs. Not everyone has the time or the skill needed to satisfy the Internet’s need for content and many times webmasters create website specially on Niches which they don’t have knowledge about so they hire writers to write content for them. Most webmasters have multiple sites so they can’t write content for all of them because of which they require the services of a Freelance Writer to write content for their websites. This is something which I tell my students that whenever you get a good client try to keep him happy because almost all webmasters have multiple sites and if you deliver quality work chances are that he/she will hire you for all of the websites resulting in good income for you from a single client. Outsourcing is all about Client Satisfaction specially in these types of services.

So now how can you start earning via Freelance Writing? First of all if you aren’t native English speaker don’t think that you can’t earn in this industry in fact most of the freelance writers providing services aren’t native English speaker, most people I’ve worked with either belonged to India or Philippines. But please keep in mind that not all of these Niches will be GOOD. Some are Good, some are Normal. It will be up to you to select which one you’ll work on and which ones you’ll pass. I plan to share Niches in frequently like 2-3 a week. So you’ll always have some thing to work on. I’ll always try to provide list of keywords with Niches so you can spot Sub-niches to work on. I normally target Keywords with a CPC of atleast $1-2 so you won’t be working on cheap ones Now for new Internet Marketers who by now are thinking what the hell do we do with Niches let me just brief them.

• Niches can be used to create small niche specific blogs.
• Niches normally have High Cost Per Click so you can earn good from Ad programs specially Google Adsense.
• Niches can be used to Create small products such as Ebooks etc.

Question : Is Amazon Associates Program open to Pakistani’s?

Answer : Yes, Its open to everyone around the world!

Question : Amazon pays tiny commissions how are we supposed to earn good from them?

Answer : Amazon is all about quantity game, the more blogs and items you have covered the more your monthly sales graph would be higher. As for the commission don’t worry because most people buy many items once they start buying so you’ll get commission for all.

Question : Some other sites offer higher commission, shouldn’t we use them?

Answer : People trust Amazon, when you send them to an Amazon page they are already satisfied. Using other websites might not yield you the Instant trust Amazon has in the eyes of customers.

I hope the above questions and the answers clear some doubts you might have regarding Amazon Associates Program. I’d love to hear your experiences with the Amazon series and how you are moving forward. Because its easy, it doesn’t require any investment, you can do it no matter where you live and the list goes on. People coming to me for advice on how to start earning money online, I tell them to dive into Freelance Writing for few reasons.

• If you think it will be easy and not much work, its better you don’t start.

• Don’t be afraid to get rejected initially, its part of the business.
• Try to get as many quality clients as soon as possible.
• Start respecting deadlines because if you don’t you’ll be out of business very soon.

What I’m referring to is the recent banning of Google AdSense accounts of Pakistani publishers. When it happened every Pakistani publisher was furious that why is Google AdSense targeting us even though I’m of opinion that what Google did was wrong as not every Pakistani publisher is a fraud what some bad people do cannot be put on good people . But as time has passed I have come to believe that what happened was a blessing in disguise as it has now forced Pakistani Internet marketers to start exploring new methods to earn money online. I have always taught my students not to trust one source when you’re trying to earn online.

As my past experience shows that Internet marketing is a volatile field things change in a matter of seconds so now many Internet marketers who were relying on Google AdSense know that it’s not wise to keep all eggs in one basket. Since the banning of Google AdSense accounts I have seen many Internet marketers moving to new and better venues for Internet marketing. It’s good because an Internet marketer should always keep moving forward and those are still thinking that everything is over should understand it clearly that there are many good and even better venues to earn online then Google AdSense.

Many IM’ers I know have moved to Affiliate Marketing or CPA based models. If you ask me those other models are great earners if you know what you are doing. For example, I know atleast 4 people who made Niche specific blogs, worked very hard on them and started earning good solid income from Google Adsense on those blogs. I suggested Affiliate marketing to them but for some odd reason they weren’t interested as they were already earning good from Adsense which had made them lazy. But when Google Adsense banned their accounts they called me, emailed me & texted me for advice on how to move forward. I said hadn’t I told you already to focus on Affiliate marketing as well? To cut the story short, I gave some tips to them and motivated them to start afresh in Affiliate marketing and today before writing this post I emailed them for updates and 2 out of the 4 have multiplied their income by 4x and remaining 2 have atleast doubled their income. They are happy so can you be! Don’t get de-motivated because trust me; I’m going to tell you a secret now! If your website could earn good from Google Adsense, then it can for sure earn good from other venues as well. Start afresh, start looking, exploring and testing new methods and in no time you’ll be back and running.

I’m very sorry that as usual I couldn’t update the blog for such a long time, no excuses this time so let’s directly move forward to the post.

Just to refresh some minds regarding the steps we are following for our Earn Money through Amazon Associates series, I’ve mentioned the steps below.

Sign up for Amazon Associates.
Choose a product.
Find keywords.
Register a domain.
Make a website.
Do on-site SEO
Do off-site SEO
Get ranked and make sales.
We covered the points up to Make a Website in the previous posts and I hope by now you all have your Amazon accounts approved and products short-listed.

So what will we cover today?

On Site SEO

On Site SEO is one of the most important aspects when operating your website because it’s the structure on which you’re Off Site SEO will depend on. If your structure isn’t stable and strong chances are your Off Site SEO attempts will fail as well.

I’ll try to keep things simple and not over burden you with information. Please understand On Site SEO is a very big field and can’t be covered in one post. I’ll post whatever I feel is necessary for you to start working and will be posting other techniques for On Site SEO as time goes.

Title

The title of your website matters a lot and if you don’t want to get a penalty, you need to keep it simply and user-friendly as well as Google-friendly. This is the place where you get to describe your whole website/business in about 10-15 words. I am not saying you should not put keywords in there. Quite the opposite – put your most important keywords in the title but make sure you put them in a way that is not spammy looking instead of just stuffing them and separating them with commas.

Tips

When writing your website title, be creative and don’t repeat anything more than once. For example, if you are selling silver and gold jewelry, writing “Silver jewelry, gold jewelry…” in your title is not a good idea. Instead use the phrase “Silver and gold jewelry”. You should know that Google doesn’t care about the order of the words and you will get credit for each permutation.

The H1 and H2 Texts

The H1 and H2 Texts are highly important – Why? They show the search engine the main subjects and Table of Contents for the content to be indexed. Make them keyword friendly and reflective of your page’s title tag.

Meta Tags

The Meta Keywords, Description and Robots tag — Google used description copy to market your site in its results, treat this as optimized sales copy. Make sure your sitemap.xml page is CONSTANTLY called up to the search engines. Although not as important as they used to be but still these are something that must be on your page and must be optimized.

Keyword Density

Keyword Density — 8% is excellent and doesn’t seem spammy, if you have a 500 word article, then 40 of those words should have variances of the search term you are targeting, if this seems excessive, lower the keyword density down to 5% and you will only need to add 25 variances/instances of your keyword.

IMG Alt Tags

IMG Alt Tags — Your images should be described via ALT Tags with the keywords you are optimizing for – If your image is hosted on your web-host, the file name of the images should also be SEO’d — If you have an image about Haier Refrigerators have it be haier-refrigrator.jpg in your images folder.

Sitemap.xml

Sitemaps are a very important factor you shouldn’t miss. Many plugins are available to create sitemaps automatically.

Google Webmaster Tools

Validate your website to the Google’s Webmaster Tools as its one of the best thing Google offers for Webmasters. It will show you almost everything you need to perfect your Website’s ranking. It will show Errors, Problems Google Crawler Is Facing etc.

Robots.txt

Please ensure you have created a Robots.txt file as per your requirements and is present on your website.

XHTML/W3C Validation

Try to get your website XHTML/W3C Validated to make sure errors aren’t present on your website, the less errors it contains the better.

URL Structure

URL Structure is also a very important step. Make sure your website isn’t generating Dynamic URLS instead Keyword Rich Static URLS. In WORDPRESS Goto Settings -> Permalinks to choose these options.

Canonical URL Issues

If you can access your site by typing “site.com” and “www.site.com”, Google will see that as two different sites with the exact same content and that can hurt you a lot for Duplicate Content. You need to create a file called .htaccess with these three lines and put it in the root folder of your site:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.site\.com$
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.site.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Warning: unless you know what you’re doing, have someone else do this. All servers are configured different and you don’t want to mess with your .htaccess file.
