For those of you who don’t know what JadoPado is, its basically an Ecommerce website based in Dubai which deals primarily in electronic items such as Laptops, Mobile phones, tablets etc. JadoPado started couple of years back and has grown steadily but more recently they have started to get their share of fame as people here are shifting more and more towards online shopping which is benefiting many platforms such as Souq and JadoPado. When I found out about JadoPado over a year back I was a little surprised with the name they choose and I have always wanted to know what it exactly means and why this specific name was chosen for the website.
I really loved the way JadoPado markets and present itself and I always wanted to try them out but few days back I got my chance at that. People normally try out with small things but I did the opposite. I was looking for a MacBook Pro (ME665) the highest configuration available in UAE for the MacBook Pro. I checked out the leading retail stores in different malls and almost all were selling this specific model for AED11,500 (USD 3100). I then decided to take a look online where I was surprised to see the price difference; I expected a difference but not that much. The best price I found was on Souq.com, which was AED8999, but without warranty and the 2nd best price I found was on JadoPado, which was AED9499 with 1, Year JadoPado Shield and an AED500 Gift card to purchase different items from JadoPado. I decided to go with JadoPado, I was a little skeptical because I didn’t want to purchase such an expensive item online but the price difference being huge I decided to go for it. I placed an order at 11:30am and paid via my Credit Card, payment was done and the order was placed. I had chosen the product to be delivered at the earliest time slot, which was 3pm – 6pm that very day. I didn’t believe it at first and thought that this is some sort of marketing gimmick just to get to show that they are fast. When the clock ticked past 3pm I was ready that I’ll receive some sort of a call from them apologising that we can’t deliver it today and you’ll get it tomorrow but to my amazement at around 4pm I got an email from JadoPado updating me on the status of my order that my order has been dispatched and its on its way. I was amazed when within 40minutes of that email the delivery guy of JadoPado was standing in my office to deliver the goods. I took the MacBook and off he went. While coming back to my desk I decided these guys need to be praised and acknowledged for their service and speed that’s when I decided to post a review about them here on my blog. I then ordered again using the AED500 gift card as I needed the Apple Magic mouse and a roller bag, for which I choose the 9am – 12pm time slot for the next day and their delivery guy had reached my office before me ☺. I also liked the warranty on my MacBook as it’s quite comprehensive covering a lot of aspects and I can even increase the tenure of the coverage and things covered by paying a little more. I went with the default one as it covers me for 1 year and includes most of the things that can go wrong such as electronic breakdown, accidental damage, cracked screens and liquid damage. This is quite comprehensive I must say but if you want to pay more you can get the Elite Shield, with the Elite shield you are even covered for theft and travel.
It’s amazing on how fast they deliver their products; they really have amazed me and increased 1 loyal customer. Enough for the good things, I have some other things to say or you can say some suggestions to make which might help them improve their customer service and satisfaction even more. So what are my suggestions? I’ll list them down in bullet points to make them short and sweet.
- Once I ordered I believe I should have gotten a call from JadoPado letting me know they got the order and are processing it. Yes, I got the email but phone calls add a more personal touch to everything.
- The shipments I received were just my products, no printed invoice or anything. I think JadoPado should have a special envelope in which they should place the invoice and a Thank You letter for the business. These small things really add to the experience and I believe JadoPado truly believes in customer experience.
- The customer should be called after a few days of the order just to ask them if they were satisfied with the whole process and invite them to shop again. This way you’ll get very valuable customer feedback and the customer would also be amazed that JadoPado really takes me seriously.
- Bring more deals ☺
Another very important point that I want to address to JadoPado management is why on earth are you using Google Adsense ads on your website? Shouldn’t you be focusing on sales rather than ad revenue? You can use the same banner spaces to promote your products or special offers but not Adsense. It makes the website look unprofessional and really sends out a bad message. I would like to suggest that these Adsense ads should be removed as I believe they are causing more harm than benefit. You shouldn’t be loosing sales to earn few cents per click. Adsense is good for information websites not ecommerce. I haven’t seen any good Ecommerce website using any kinds of 3rd Party banner ads. So please take this point seriously as its seriously hurting your reputation. A very good friend of mine Owais Ahmed also pointed out the same issue asking me why is such a big Ecommerce company using Adsense??
That’s all for now, so if you are thinking of buying any electronics do checkout JadoPado they deliver to many countries now. The picture on the right side is my desk with the new MacBook in action ☺
